The Organization of Black Alumni's (OBA) 12th Annual Achievement Awards banquet is featured in a story with photos. The OBA posthumously presented its Brenda M. Scott Memorial Public Service Award to Liuzzo's daughter, Penny Herrington. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefited OBA's scholarship program which offers financial assistance to Detroit Public School graduates who attend Wayne State.
